So Many Great Things Coming!
Indian Summer (I hope itโs still politically okay to say that) is an (almost) annual occurrence here. The days are often sunny, though may be cool until noon and cool off quickly once the sun nears setting time. Itโs great weather for putting my yard to rest for the rainy season and winter. Sometimes I do wonder why I planted all these shrubs and flowers. Low maintenance does not equal NO maintenance! But Iโm rewarded with lovely greenery as the backdrop in my backyard when I sit on the deck where I enjoy my goldfish pond and the bubbling waterfall and fountain.
In addition to writing books, Iโm on several boards in the area. Itโs been hectic with our theatre celebrating its 100 year anniversary, the hospital raising money for a new linear accelerator (itโs the main part of radiation for cancer treatments, among other uses), and the local community college doing a campaign to build a new vocational building. Sometimes I want to run away and bail out. Thereโs a reason I have a personal rule about not serving on more than three boards at once! Our local Cabaret Follies group is also gearing up for our biennial shows in April 2025 and Iโm the chairman, again. Iโm grooming one of committee captains to take over in 2027, but she doesnโt know it yet. โบ
Iโve been reading books by some favorite authors and analyzing their writing styles. Itโs interesting to note the difference in sentence lengths, chapter lengths, more or less use of descriptions, and so forth. Reading as an analyst is certainly different than reading simply for pleasure, but I still enjoy the process and the story, most of the time.
Until next time, happy reading!
