Summertime and an Early Review of Killer Anniversary

Summertime, and the living is easy! Unless you’re also campaigning for a seat on the city council and your main opponent is a local attorney. I’ve never waved signs on the corner but now I’m an expert, and it’s more fun than I anticipated. Team PJ has been ringing doorbells—there are a lot of “no soliciting” signs out there, by the way—I might get one myself to fend off the host of pest control companies at our front door. As soon as the primary votes are in, we’ll have a debrief meeting and plan the next stage for the general. I honestly believe it’s harder work to run for an office than to actually carry out the duties.

Meanwhile, the blueberries are all safely in the freezer (fifteen quart-size Ziploc bags) for use between now and next summer. They are so much better than the “fresh” ones that are in the grocery stores. And two volunteer Sunglow cherry tomato plants are producing the sweetest little tomatoes. Yum. The backyard is a lovely place to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. We can enjoy the plants (Agapanthus, begonias, dusty miller, jasmine, Crocosmia to name a few) and the pond with its waterfall and fifteen goldfish of various colors. Two months ago I added three baby shubunkin goldfish. I’ve read that they will interbreed with my ordinary comet fish, but not till they’re two years old. I have a long wait!

At long last, I’ve finished editing Killer Anniversary. It’s so close to being ready for the Kindle version, followed by the print version. I have a tentative release date of September 4.  You might check out the very awesome review by professional reviewer Matt Pechey. Very soon I’ll start the next book. It keeps me out of trouble, you know.
