Have you read Killer Anniversary yet???

At long last, I’ve been able to get Killer Anniversary published! This is the third book in my Christie’s Flower Shoppe mystery series and is set one year after Christie re-opens her grandma’s florist business. It features Christie O’Mara, her Aunt Doris, friends Anita and Jason, and of course her cat Stormy, with a new mystery to solve. I am always surprised when I discover who the “bad guy” is because I typically change my mind half a dozen times while I’m writing. I hope you have fun guessing who it is this time.

Last year was crazy busy with unexpected events, including a short foray into politics. I was encouraged to enter our local city council race and made the decision to do so with a LOT of encouragement. I had a good “Team PJ” and we did all the things you’re supposed to, like walk in the Fourth of July parade, get yard signs up around the city, ask for money (ugh), run ads in the local paper and record radio ads. It was fun, as well as work, but I was truly grateful when I was 101 votes short (of about 6000 total) of second place. Top two go on to the general election in November and I don’t have to do any more campaigning and can retire gracefully from the world of politics! I learned something important about myself, however, and that is my desire to help my little city get better in other ways. And I don’t have to be on the city council to do so!

Flowers and gardens are close to my heart. I was given some Passion Flower cuttings by a friend and hope to have a series of vines climbing trellises along the fence behind my goldfish pond. I see a little green on a couple of them in the starting cups and have my fingers crossed. Just in case, however, I purchased some seeds as well. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Until next time, happy reading!
