Another Texas Wedding, a New Book Cover, and France ✈️📚

One more Texas family wedding over and done! That was number four in a short span of two years. It was fun and we were able to visit friends and family in the Houston area. The only hairy part was driving from the hotel in Pearland (that’s Pear-land, not Pearl-and, by the way) to George Bush International Airport at 3:30 a.m. (I call that o-dark-thirty, left over from my hospital call nights). We set three alarms to be sure we’d get up. There’s a lot less traffic on the freeways at that time of the morning, thankfully, but still a dozen or more of interchanges that look like multi-legged octopi on  Google maps.

Book-wise, I’ve had a new cover designed for One Will Too Many. It’s more genre-specific and I hope to catch a few more eyes with it. And I’m madly revising Killer Wedding, trying to get it ready for release in May. I knew my editor was going to roll her eyes, and she did, big time. My task is to keep the good stuff, toss the parts that don’t work, and create a slug of new, better scenes. I’d rather be outside playing in the dirt, planting some new shrubs and annuals.

By the time you read this, I’ll be packing for a trip to France with some good friends. I’ve been practicing my French on Duolingo and am amazed at how much of my two years of high school French I remember. Parlez-vous français? I’ve discovered that my cell phone (Google Pixel 8) knows when I’m using French and spells accordingly. It also recognizes Finnish and adds the double-dots on the vowels so I don’t have to. Amazing device, I must say.

Until next time, happy reading!
