My Summer & What’s Coming Up ☀️📚🌺

It’s been a glorious summer here in the Pacific Northwest! My “Sunglow” cherry tomato bush is bursting with golden globes—so many that I made tomato jam a few days ago. One of my fellow authors posted on Facebook that she had made some so I tried it. Delicious! I really don’t like tomatoes in general—I planted one bush to make my husband happy–but these are yummy straight off the vine, warmed by the sun.

My Texas son and daughter-in-law and their grand-daughter arrived unexpectedly for a short visit. We managed to pack a lot of activities into the 36 hours that they were here. They’re escaping the heat in the Dallas area and were headed to the beautiful Olympic Peninsula and Canada when they left. I love arrivals! I hate good-byes.

I’ve been practicing writing new blurbs for my books after a couple of sessions with a young lady who teaches “Book Blurb Magic.” There is definitely an art to writing the hook, which will hopefully entice the potential buyer to read the rest of the blurb, which also has to be cleverly written, before they decide to press the “buy” button. Writing is easy compared to selling!

In the meantime, I’m working on the third book in my Christie’s Flower Shoppe Mystery series. My working title is Killer Anniversary. I’m liking the sound of that and how it ties into the first two books, Killer Flowers and Killer Wedding. I didn’t think a title like Killer Prom would be a good idea even if I wrote a “killer” of a book!

Until next time, happy reading!
