Fuzzy Additions, Children’s Books, and a Writing Update! 🔎📚

Growing up on a small farm of about twenty acres was one of the best gifts of my childhood. There was a babbling creek across the road to play in and catch minnows and crawdads. One corner of our farm consisted of several acres of trees where we built a treehouse, scouted like Davy Crockett, and spent many happy hours. There were cats in the barn, chickens in the chicken coop and ducks in the pond. Cows in the pasture and barn provided milk and a few horses were there for riding. Basically, I grew up as an animal lover, although I have no desire to live on a farm now.

What does this have to do with writing, you ask? Nothing, except that we recently adopted a couple of kitties who are quite entertaining, to say the least. Cheddar, the orange tabby, is my piano teacher reincarnated, I swear. Martin had an orange cat named Hobbes who stalked around his piano studio. He is quite a chatty cat and frequently offers his opinion without my asking for it. Button is a 6 month old pure black kitten, like Stormy, Christie’s shop cat. She’s a little pistol and seem to think that sitting on my laptop keyboard while I write is a perfectly normal activity for a cat. I beg to differ and frequently relocate her to the basket at the top of the cat tower.

I’m learning to adjust my writing time based on their siesta times, although it doesn’t always coincide with my own available time. Cheddar is currently in my lap, pushing my hand with his head for a kitty scratch. Writing time is over for now!

I may have to convert to writing only children’s storybooks because they are much shorter! I just released my first two books (maybe the only two ever!): Bunny Piper  and The Pigeon that came to Breakfast. Both are available to be ordered as print books from your favorite book store. (They’re too short for Amazon print books.) They are available as digital books, however, on Amazon.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming and getting started on Christie’s book four: Killer Ghost.

Until next time, happy reading!

A Crafty Plan. A Healing Sojourn. A Deadly Twister.

Royal Dutton, close friend and stylist for Charles and Angelica Carrows, has a broken heart and he’s falling to bits. Disturbed by Royal’s escalating depression and dangerous choices, the London-based Carrows family decide to distract Royal with a vacation to an English castle on the dazzling eastern shores of Yorkshire, Britain.

Well-intentioned, they plan a murder mystery using the villagers near the castle as characters who will each play a role in convincing the unsuspecting Royal that there is a murder to be solved for a real-life person.

It should have been fun.

But there are unforeseen consequences. The small town of Boswell Crag and its eccentric villagers will never be the same.

And someone . . . will not survive.

A CARROWS MURDER, the tenth novel in the The Carrows Family Chronicles series by Annabelle Lewis.
