May Flowers, Waking Goldfish, and a Reading Recommendation! 🌷🌷🌷

My front yard is blooming in pink, white and red, as well as lavender. I love seeing the deciduous shrubs and trees leaf out to their spring splendor, even though it reminds me that I’ll have a few hours of pruning ahead once they’re done with the show. The daphne odora, one of my mother’s favorite plants, was beautiful under the dogwood tree which hadn’t leafed out just yet. Then as the pink-tinged-white blossoms fell off, the lime green Japanese maple unfurled it’s delicate lacy leaves. The adage that “April showers brings May flowers” is certainly true in my part of the country.

The goldfish in the outdoor pond are waking up as well. When I tried feeding them at the end of April, only one of the twenty or so fish came up to test the fish flake. He (She?) went back down to the depths of the pond right away, telling me they weren’t ready for regular feeding yet. The pond lilies are sending up the first leaves on long stems, teasing me with the possibility that I’ll have more than a single flower this year. That’s all I had last summer, but it was a beautiful pink blossom.

Spring and summer are wonderful times for many things, including weddings. When Christie O’Mara was commissioned to do the flowers for the daughter of a prominent local family, she didn’t expect to be dealing with an attempted murder. You’ll have to read Killer Wedding  to find out what happened! And I’d love a review on Amazon or Goodreads or wherever you like.

Until next time, happy reading!

A chance to escape. A haunting surprise.

Dragged into a homicide by the spooky victim,
can a reluctant sleuth solve the case and set up a fresh start?

Clara Kelly only wants to be free. Fleeing her abusive husband and holing up in his empty historic Salem, Massachusetts house, she’s shocked to find it already occupied by the ghosts of a sad-eyed Union soldier and cat. And just as the thirty-two-year-old fugitive accepts that the supernatural is real, a deadly car accident out front brings the phantom of the recently deceased to her door claiming he’s been murdered.

Afraid every moment she lingers will bring more trouble, she tries to ignore his pleas. But after the desperate spirit agrees to aid a puppy in peril in exchange for her help, Clara relents to playing sleuth while looking over her shoulder for the slime who made her marriage a living hell.

Can she find purpose in parting the veil of possibilities?
