Have you read Christie’s Flower Shoppe? 🔎📚🌷

Thanks to readers everywhere, Killer Flowers and Killer Wedding are having a moment. I’m enjoying this new set of characters and hard at work on the third book in the series. I’m even trying something new this time around—following an outline! One of my fellow authors writes such a detailed outline that his books practically write themselves. I’m not going that far, but maybe my editor won’t have to do so much work in saving my story. Time will tell.

And I’m trying something totally new. I’ve written about ten children’s stories over the past five years. Some were for great nieces and nephews, and three of them came about as an auction item at our local school’s fundraiser. Recently I stumbled onto a package deal with professional editing, illustrations, and cover design for a reasonable price. I already had the stories and jumped at the chance to give this a go. I don’t have an ETA. Crossing my fingers!

What a delightful summer we’re enjoying in the great Pacific Northwest! In my particular corner of the world, it’s been warm and sunny but we haven’t experienced any forest fires nearby. Many of the lawns in the neighborhood are dry but my husband (originally from Texas) delights in having the greenest grass around. He gets to pay the water bill!

And in case you haven’t tried any of my Julia Fairchild mysteries yet, or want a full set at a fantastically low price for yourself or others, I’ve released a boxset (ebook) of all seven Julia Fairchild books in one volume. Carly says all their troubles are Julia’s fault. Read them and decide for yourself.

Until next time, happy reading!

Belladonna—a classic murder method in the past, but now?

Christie O’Mara has been commissioned to transform a church into a tropical island garden for a socialite’s wedding—a major event in the town she calls home again. With the help of her ditzy Aunt Doris, she creates a magical setting despite a difficult mother and a microscopic ten days’ notice.

At the exquisitely decorated country club, a groomsman’s partner collapses. When possible belladonna poisoning is mentioned in the emergency department, the family is quick to blame Christie’s Flower Shoppe. The newspaper’s headline of Killer Flowers Strike Again a few days later doesn’t help.

Christie opens her business every morning with the worry she won’t be in business long enough to celebrate her shop’s one year anniversary in the fall or do the flowers for two weddings scheduled in September.

Unless she can help the Police Chief identify someone with the real motive and means.

KILLER WEDDING, the second cozy mystery novel in the Christie’s Flower Shoppe series.
